Myth about Performance Appraisals

I have seen many post about "Appraisals" impacted during pandemic. Everyone is talking about companies saving cost or in losses because of which they have hold appraisal or no appraisal.


I believe, we fail to understand that, #appraisal review is not only about salary increment. It is about a discussion between the manager and employee about his #performance in the last year, it is a discussion of highs and lows of an employee and plan for next level, not only limited to monetary terms but should be about roles and responsibilities and learnings. Due to pandemic, company may be saving cost or in losses but should go ahead with Performance Appraisal/discussion. It will keep an employee #motivated which in turn advocate for the organisation.
